This is a social initiative to promote entrepreneurship and fight poverty that has sought, since 2014, to provide knowledge and skills to women from vulnerable communities in Punta Cana, through technical training for the design and production of marketable handicrafts. Their creation is based largely on the use of recycled materials and organic waste (plastic bags, wood, etc.). It received recognition as a Promising Practice 2020 from the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme).
The National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) recognized the Nuestra Señora de Punta Cana Artisans Workshop as a Promising Practice 2020.
